Alcohol can slide into your life like a thief in the night……it can easily get out of hand and adversely affect every aspect of your existence.
But it’s easier than you can imagine bringing your drinking under control using a proven herbal formula of Kudzu Vine Extract, and the famous Chinese heart tonic DanShen (Salvia Miltorrhiza). We call it ACON . But read these science reports for yourself…………
Reducing effect of the Chinese medicinal herb, Salvia miltiorrhiza, on alcohol self-administration in Sardinian alcohol-preferring rats.
The dried roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza are highly valued in Chinese folk medicine for use in the prevention and treatment of a series of ailments. Previous studies have demonstrated that administration of standardized extracts of S. miltiorrhiza selectively reduced excessive alcohol drinking and relapse-like drinking in selectively bred Sardinian alcohol-preferring (sP) rats. The present study was designed to extend these findings on the “anti-alcohol” properties of S. miltiorrhiza extracts to operant procedures of oral alcohol self-administration. Two independent groups of sP rats were trained to lever-respond on an FR4 schedule of reinforcement for alcohol (15%, v/v) or sucrose (1-3%, w/v) in daily 30min sessions. Once responding had stabilized, rats were tested under the fixed ratio 4 (FR4) schedule of reinforcement (index of alcohol reinforcing properties) and the progressive ratio (PR) schedule of reinforcement (index of alcohol motivational properties). Treatment with S. miltiorrhiza extract (0, 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, intragastrically markedly reduced lever responding for alcohol, amount of selfadministered alcohol, and breakpoint for alcohol (defined as the lowest response requirement not achieved in the PR experiment). No dose of S. miltiorrhiza extract altered any parameter of sucrose selfadministration. These results a) demonstrate that treatment with S. miltiorrhiza extract selectively reduced the reinforcing and motivational properties of alcohol in sP rats and b) extend to operant procedures of alcohol self-administration previous data on the “antialcohol” effects of S. miltiorrhiza extracts. These data strengthen the notion that novel pharmacological approaches for treatment of alcohol use disorders may stem from natural substances.
And this next published science study undertaken by no less than nine scientists and shows naturally alcohol loving rats taking DanShen and “turning away” from alcohol (without joining Alcoholics Anonymous).
IDN 5082, a standardized extract of Salvia miltiorrhiza, delays acquisition of alcohol drinking behaviour in rats.
Recent research demonstrated that extracts from the dried roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza, a valued folk medicine in China, are effective in reducing voluntary alcohol intake in selectively bred Sardinian alcohol-preferring (sP) rats. These studies were conducted in alcohol-experienced sP rats, i.e. rats which had the opportunity to consume alcohol for several weeks before the test with Salvia miltiorrhiza extracts, reproducing the human “active drinking” phase. In contrast, the present study investigated the effect of IDN 5082, a standardized extract of S. miltiorrhiza, on the acquisition of alcohol drinking behavior in sP rats that had never experienced alcohol before the study. Consistently, the first administration of IDN 5082 (0, 25, 50 and 100mg/kg; i.g.) occurred immediately before alcohol presentation. Alcohol was offered under the two-bottle free-choice regimen with unlimited access for 24h per day. Treatment with IDN 5082 was repeated once daily for 10 consecutive days. IDN 5082 dosedependently delayed acquisition of alcohol drinking behavior; IDN 5082-induced reduction in alcohol intake was compensated by an increase in water intake. These results add further support to the preclinical anti-alcohol profile of S. miltiorrhiza extracts.
In this PubMed published study another large group of scientists demonstrated that alcohol preferring rats preferred water over alcohol IF they were fed daily DanShen.
We ourselves have witnessed firsthand people taking DanShen as the well-known “heart tonic” who could not fathom why they drank so much less than they did before.
You own the drink. It doesn’t own you!
……. But if you add to the formula yet another famous Chinese Traditional Medicine, Kudzu Vine Extract, you may truly be able to say NO!
An extract of the Chinese herbal root kudzu reduces alcohol drinking by heavy drinkers in a naturalistic setting.
Extracts of kudzu containing a variety of isoflavones have been shownto reduce alcohol drinking in rats and hamsters.
The present study was designed to test the efficacy of a kudzu extract in a clinical population. Male and female “heavy” alcohol drinkers were treated with either placebo or a kudzu extract for 7 days and then given an opportunity to drink their preferred brand of beer while in a naturalistic laboratory setting. Participants served as their own controls, and order of treatment exposure was counterbalanced. Drinking behavior was monitored by a digital scale that was located in the top of an end table.
Kudzu treatment resulted in significant reduction in the number of beers consumed that was paralleled by an increase in the number of sips and the time to consume each beer and a decrease in the volume of each sip. These changes occurred in the absence of a significant effect on the urge to drink alcohol. There were no reported side effects of kudzu treatment.
These data suggest that an extract of this leguminous plant may be a useful adjunct in reducing alcohol intake in a naturalistic setting.
This PubMed published report, again by a large group of medical scientists demonstrates the speed and efficacy of this famous tonic. But read all the reports for yourself.
You can continue to enjoy a nice glass of red, or a frosty beer on a warm day. You can enjoy a drink under your conditions, without guilt or anxiety.
Just take 5 ml of ACON (about a teaspoon) in water in the early evening to reduce your alcohol consumption………or
Take two teaspoons of ACON in the early evening if you are wanting a stronger result………………. or
Take three teaspoons of ACON in the early evening if you are a heavy drinker wanting the strongest result.
These doses of ACON can be changed daily to suit your target result.
In time, you may take a smaller dose and it may achieve a greater result.
Each 5 ml of ACON contains equivalent 2.5 grams Kudzu Vine Extract (Pueraria lobata) and 2.5 grams DanShen (Salvia Miltorrhiza).
